Hi All, By mistakenly deleted the entire checkpoint folder in production. Is there any way to recover the checkpoint folder back.

Do you mean checkpoint for a streaming job or do you mean _delta_log directory

For Streaming jobs in Databricks

I think with the cloud file services there is a way to recover deleted files, but I’ve never gone through the process.

The delta log is just metadata on the table. It’s got things like file pointers, schema, timestamps, audit information. If you delete that then you’ll have a mess.

You can contact Microsoft to restore your content in the storage account. And maybe turn on soft delete to prevent 🙂
